Next 12 months outside my comfort zone. Wish me luck!

I gave up on resolutions many years ago. I don’t wait till New Year to start on new habits or break old ones. A few years ago I read Chris Brogan’s blog post about his 3 words for the year. I liked the idea and I have been doing that ever since.

The three I picked this year are a vast departure from my usual, “strategic”, “data-driven”, “results oriented” type of words. At the time I picked them a few years back they were much needed. I was running (and still am) my freelance business and the business was running me.

This year I feel that I need to get out of my comfort zone to take things to the next level.

Here they are, drumroll please.

Create, which I don’t do enough of. For starters creating posts for Medium, content for my blog, space in my head, a comfortable physical space, new business/revenue stream, new relationships, you get the picture.

Pursue, not to be complacent and go after what I want, make my own luck. The last few years I haven’t done much pursuing, mainly because I wasn’t sure what to pursue. Now I have some clarity, time to get to it.

Share, it’s not that I don’t share, but I can do more of it. Mainly share my experience and thoughts to a broader community. I find that I hold myself back because, who’s going to listen anyway. I need to stop doing that in order to move forward.

To break old routines and starting new ones is never easy, but the same time it is exciting and empowering.

Stay tuned…..
